How to Achieve Your Goals in 2021 | Victoriously Vintage

Each year around the first of December I begin thinking about how the year went and what goals I met. It’s the beginning of a major time of evaluation to see where I triumphed and where I could do better.

It’s hard to believe the first week of 2021 is almost behind us.  All week I have been deep diving into my goals for 2021, and as I sit here tonight I thought it would be a good idea to share with you what my strategy is.

It doesn’t matter if you are making goals for your business or your personal life, these tips will work for both. So without further hesitation let’s jump right in.

#1 Make a Vision Board

Vision boards are GREAT!  When used correctly it’s like a visual map of your dream for the year. You can make one the old fashioned way on poster board or you can utilize Pinterest to make a vision board.  Just make sure you fill up your board with all the things you would like to accomplish – dream car, dream house, fitness goals, etc.

#2 Be Specific About Your Goals

Make a rough draft of your goals for 2021.  Take a good look at your list then tag each with a question. For example – Don’t just say you want to make more money. Be specific. How much money do you want to make? How many days a week do you want to exercise? How many hours a week do you want to spend on bible study? Make your goal, then phrase it so it’s a measurable goal.

#3 Change How You Speak to Yourself

Negative self-talk is a goal KILLER. It’s like putting a big dose of poison right on your dreams.  We are not only what we eat….we are what we think and speak. Fill your mind with positivity, not negativity. Know that you can do anything you set your mind to.

Be happy for others – don’t be jealous.

#4 Every Win Matters

Celebrate every victory no matter how big or small.  It’s easy to get beat down and overwhelmed, so counter those negative feelings with a victory celebration. Savor every single win!

#5 It’s Not Just About Us

Our existence is about so much more than us and our family. We are here to serve others. I am so thankful for all the ways God has revealed this to me over the years. To me, there is no better feeling than giving to others. So make room for serving. Form a ministry or community service event you can use to fill a gap somewhere. Team up with another ministry or local club that is already making a difference. Be a helping hand.

#6 Don’t Procrastinate

Let’s be honest a minute. Some decisions are difficult. Like getting on the scale January 1 after you spent the last month binging on dressing, pecan pie, and other tasty treats lol! But what happens after you get on the scale? You have a point of reference. You know how far you have to go. Then you can set small, achievable goals. That’s my plan, and I’m sticking to it.

If you are going to accomplish great things, you are going to have to make decisions that are sometimes tough. You are going to have to take action. Dare to do what needs to be done so you can achieve your goals.

#7 Don’t Give Up

I promise….some days you are going to want to give up. Show up anyway. Some days you are going to want to hide out. Show up anyway.  Some days are easy and some are not. Show up anyway. RESOLVE to succeed and don’t give up until you have reached your destination.

I wish you the very best for 2021. Don’t forget if you want to send me a message on Facebook, you can do so HERE at Victoriously Vintage.
